Knitting & Reading (in icelandic)
A knitting-and-reading gathering in the spirit of Ólöf from Hlöðum
REGISTRATION: FLORA.AKUREYRI@GMAIL.COM
A knitting-and-reading workshop inspired by the plant enthusiast and knitting poet Ólöf from Hlöðum. A gathering where everyone brings along their current knitting project, while we chat and read from Ólöf’s works and about her unusual life journey. Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be served. A particularly cozy and enjoyable time in the South Room at Sigurhæðir, where the rowan tree of Guðrún and Matthías flourishes outside in all its glory.
Maximum of 14 participants – registration is therefore required at flora.akureyri@gmail.com.
The workshop is funded by the Women’s Culture and Memorial Fund, managed by the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association, in connection with our publication of Ólöf’s Childhood Home earlier this summer.
This knitting-and-reading workshop is the first of six autumn workshops, always on Thursdays at five o’clock. See more here: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1213514250580464&set=a.527644379167458
