Geirmundur has been on stage since 1958, when he was 14 years old, andhas since been one of the most productive musicians in the country. He has performedat all major music and outdoor festivals in the country, and has sung inmost of the country's social centers and concert halls. In 2008,Geirmundur celebrated his 50th "business anniversary" in the gymnasium in Sauðárkrók, wherehe packed the gymnasium and many hundreds of people attended.
Geirmundurreleased his first LP "Í singjandi svív" in 1989, andsince then there have been twelve albums. It is safe to say that most ofGeirmund's albums have been successful, and he has been efficient in bringingyoung people to the fore, for example with the album "Skagfjörður singja"in 2015, where a number of young Skagfjörður people, together with older ones, sang songshis
