Sjón verður sögu ríkari Exhibition

The exhibition at Ýmishúsið consists of photographs, visual art, art objects, an

“Sjón verður sögu ríkari” is an art exhibition featuring photography, visual art, objects, and furniture, opening on Wednesday, April 1, and running until Monday, April 6, during Easter.

The exhibition at Ýmishúsið will be open on the first day, Wednesday, April 1, from 20:00 to 23:00, and on the following days from 14:00 to 19:00.

The exhibition includes:

  • Photographs and color tests by Þengill Valdimarsson, a passionate amateur photographer who also creates “color tests”—images made by spraying colors onto canvas.
  • Works by actress and visual artist Ingunn Jensdóttir, including watercolor and oil paintings.
  • Kolbrún Ingólfsdóttir’s functional and artistic objects made from recycled glass.
  • Several chairs by Valdi’s workshop, featuring reindeer hides.
  • “Skáhillur” designed by the late Gunnar Magnússon, a furniture designer and interior architect from Ólafsfjörður, who also designed the chessboard used in the famous 1972 World Chess Championship match in Reykjavík between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky, known as the “Match of the Century.
