A cozy evening at Davíðshús where Sigmundur Ernir Rúnarsson will speak about the origins of, and read from, his latest poetry book Nokkur orð um notagildi lífsins (A Few Words on the Usefulness of Life), as well as share previously unpublished poems. The event begins at 20:00 (8:00 PM).
“Nokkur orð um notagildi lífsins are words of weight — words you want to return to again and again.”

In his poetry, he reflects on life, the path we walk toward the grave, the pain we encounter along the way, and the things that bring comfort — our relationships with others and the maturity most of us gain with age. “Sigmundur has a remarkable ability to touch people’s emotions and move the reader. Some of the poems are tender and full of joy, while others describe deep sorrow and difficult pain that can never be fully overcome.”
