Solarpunk

Imagine a bright future

Solapunk: Optimism festival will be held March 13–15 at Deiglan in Akureyri. The festival consists of art workshops, hands-on workshops, dialogue, and community gathering.

Solapunk is an ideology and movement focused on creating and imagining a world in which we live in harmony with nature, society, and ourselves.

The festival offers an opportunity to activate imagination and creativity, listen to personal experiences, and engage in dialogue about the world we want to build. Emphasis will be placed on highlighting what is being done well in society and sharing projects that have a positive impact on people and planet.

Participants come from diverse sectors of society, including culture and the arts, creative industries, innovation, business, environmental initiatives, and grassroots movements. Artistic events will be interwoven throughout the program, and guests are invited to be active participants through dialogue and co-creation.

The festival begins at 19:30 on Friday, March 13, when registration opens for the weekend’s workshops and art sessions. Friday evening will feature a relaxed atmosphere, socializing, and conversation.

On Saturday, the program begins at 11:00 with short talks and presentations of the workshops and art sessions.
