Althingi – Images and Realitie

Symposium by Akureyri Academy, the University of Akureyri, and Reykjavik Academy

Symposium by Akureyri Academy, the University of Akureyri, and Reykjavik Academy

In Icelandic!

The symposium is organized in light of the conflicts and events surrounding the handling of bills in the last parliamentary session. However, the perspective will be broader – focusing on the legislative process itself, which is shaped both by professional considerations and political struggle. Emphasis will be placed on the procedure of bills, the quality of legislation, and the organization of parliamentary work.

The session will be chaired by Thomas Barry, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Akureyri.
A live stream will be available, but questions cannot be submitted to the panelists. The Zoom link can be found in the event calendar on the University of Akureyri’s website.
