"Strengir/Strings" is Anna Álfheiðar's sixth solo exhibition and contains about 11 paintings, which have been created this year, 2024. The works are abstract and in a geometric spirit, created in three-dimensional form.

Anna Álfheiður Brynjólfsdóttir (b. 1977) graduated with a B.A. degree in art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2009 and M.A. degree in art education from the same school in 2020. For the past year, Anna has been working with the abstract three-dimensional forms of the painting with strict surface art, which she approaches in a poetic way. The subject of Anna's work is to create a dialogue between the viewer and the picture frame through their perception and experience of the multifaceted picture surface where the use of color, form and repetition play a major role in the interaction with location, time and space. At the same time, in recent years, Anna has tried to explore the boundaries between art media in her works, i.e. between paintings, textiles and sculpture/bass.
