We drive to Skíðastaðir. The hike goes up Mannshrygg on Hlíðarfjall, then along the mountain ridges across Vindheimajökull, and continues to Strýta (1,456 m), where there are expansive views in all directions. The same route is taken back. Crampons are recommended.
