The Akureyri County Library is inviting kids aged 7-12 to come to the library and use their imagination in all sorts of fun workshops.
The workshops are between 9 and 11 am and the kids are free to come and go as they please depending on their interest.

 

On June 12th we will be making badges and bookmarks from old books. You can also create your own designs.

 

The workshops will be as follows:
June 10th – Rock/jar painting – Let’s paint jars and rocks with posca pens.
June 11th – Growing workshop – We sowed in our community garden and in cardboard tubes that the kids can take home.
June 12th – Badges and bookmarks – Let’s make badges and bookmarks from old books.
June 15 – Board game morning – let's play the fun board games that the library has for loan.
June 16 – Lego - Let's build from Lego blocks. Kids are encouraged to choose a book and build something from the book. It can be scenes from the book, characters or anything else they can think of.
June 18 – Create your own book - Kids have the opportunity to create their own story and illustrate it. Those who want to can then give their book to the library.
June 19 – Bead workshop - We bead characters from children's books. We will then iron all the artwork and the kids can take them home.

 

We encourage you to attend the event in an environmentally friendly manner. Akureyri bus system is free and all buses stop in the city center 300 meters from the library.
