Töfrar Tónakistunnar (11th-12th of April) is a creative music workshop where children aged 7–10 explore music in a fun and engaging way. Participants work together to write their own lyrics, create a song, experiment with improvisation, and take part in a variety of musical games fromTónakistan. The children will also have the opportunity to try different percussion instruments while developing their imagination.
The workshop emphasizes creativity, confidence-building, and collaboration in a safe and encouraging environment.
At the end of the workshop, the children will receive a recording of the song they created together as a keepsake and a result of their work.
The workshop leaders are Sæbjörg Eva Hlynsdóttir, Kristbjörg Ásta Viðarsdóttir, and Svava Rún Steingrímsdóttir. All three work as music teachers, have completed their studies at the Iceland University of the Arts, and specialize in creative work with children.
The workshop, which is part of the Children’s Culture Festival in Akureyri, takes place over two days (11th-12th of April), with each session lasting three hours (13:00-16:00). Registration is required, and participants attend both days.
