Tónakistan presents a fun and creative music workshop for children aged 8-13! The workshop will be held in Akureyri on July 21-23, 2026.

The workshop will include games, singing, composing and improvisation. The course is suitable for all children who are interested in music!
It is not mandatory to practice an instrument to participate, but we strongly recommend that those who practice or know how to play an instrument bring their instrument with them!

The emphasis will be on creativity, self-empowerment and cooperation in a safe and encouraging environment. The goal of the workshop is to strengthen children's musical knowledge and awareness as well as introduce them to new and fun aspects of music.

Tónakistan held a similar workshop in Akureyri on April 11-12, 2026, which was a great success. Therefore, we have decided to repeat the event this summer!

The workshop's instructors are Katrín Karítas Viðarsdóttir and Svava Rún Steingrímsdóttir. Both have worked in music education, have completed their education from the Music Department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts, and have specialized in creative work with children.
