Óskar Magnússon and Ragnhildur D. Þórhallsdóttir perform gentle melodies from various countries.
Óskar Magnússon, guitarist, completed his master’s degree in 2020 from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with the French guitarist Judicael Perroy. During his studies, Óskar participated in various guitar festivals and competitions such as the Forum Guitar Festival in Vienna, the Florida Guitar Foundation in Miami, and the Gohar and Ovanes Guitar Competition in Los Angeles, where he won first prize. Óskar now lives in Iceland, where he works as a guitar teacher at Árbær Music School and Mosfellsbær School of the Arts. In addition, Óskar is one half of the Magma Guitar Duo together with Svanur Vilbergsson.
Ragnhildur D. Þórhallsdóttir, soprano, graduated in singing from the Sigurður Demetz School of Singing, where her teachers were Kristín Ragnhildur Sigurðardóttir and Auður Gunnarsdóttir. Since then, she has continued vocal studies and attended masterclasses with, among others, Laufey Helga Geirsdóttir and Jón Þorsteinsson. Ragnhildur studied music for many years under the guidance and accompaniment of Gerrit Schuil until his passing in September 2019. Together they performed concerts in 2017 at Seltjarnarnes Church, where they presented, among other works, Liederkreis Op. 39 by Robert Schumann. They also performed Haugtussa by Edvard Grieg together in the spring of 2019 at concerts in the same church. Ragnhildur sings with the Chamber Choir of Seltjarnarnes Church and has performed as a soloist on various occasions.
