UngDans Akureyri - A Man Walks Into a Bar

UngDans Akureyri - A Man Walks Into a Bar

UngDans Akureyri premieres the company's first piece in Deiglan.

On Thursday, 27 August at 20:00, the first piece by the new dance company, UngDans Akureyri, will premiere in Deiglan.

For the past month, the company's dancers have been working closely with choreographer and dancer Ólöf Ósk Þorgeirsdóttir on the development of a new dance piece. The creative process has emphasised collaboration, diverse creative methods, and building on the strengths, technique, and experience of the dancers themselves. This is a playful and powerful piece where humour, groove, and different characters are allowed to shine.

UngDans Akureyri is a new dance company run by the Danssetrið, which aims to give dancers real insight into the working process of professional dancers and to create a platform where they can develop as performing artists. The piece marks the beginning of UngDans Akureyri and is the first step in building a new platform for young dance artists in North Iceland.
