As spring advances and the snow retreats, the plants begin to awaken. Different kinds of mosses start to green up, followed by two early bloomers stealing the spotlight: purple saxifrage and spring draba – small yet resilient flowers that brave the cold and herald the changing season.
They can appear as early as March, but they’re tiny and easy to miss – you’ll need to look closely to spot them.
