Late summer brings delicious wild berries to Iceland’s hills and countryside — blueberries, bilberries and crowberries. But don’t wait too long!  The first night frosts can arrive quickly and damage the berries, so the season can be surprisingly short.
Eat them straight from the hillsides, pile them onto pancakes, or enjoy them our favourite way: simply with sugar and cream.
